Announcing an opportunity for filmmakers to seek one-on-one advice with film industry specialist, Nadia Denton
Nadia has worked in the film industry for 15 years primarily as a Curator, Audience Development Specialist and Author. She specializes in Nigerian Cinema and coined the term BEYOND NOLLYWOOD to refer to art house, experimental, animation, documentary, shorts and music videos from Nigeria and its diaspora. She has presented BEYOND NOLLYWOOD at the British Film Institute (2014, 2016), International Film Festival of Rotterdam (2018) and ENCOUNTERS Film Festival (2018). She formally entered the industry curating a monthly film club at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. In 2014 she wrote The Nigerian Filmmaker’s Guide To Success: Beyond Nollywood. In 2017 she co-produced SHOOTING IT LIKE A WOMAN a BBC World Service radio documentary about women in the Nigerian film industry. She has been featured on platforms such as BBC Africa, BBC London, and CNN. She was the Lead Curator for the British Council UK/Nigeria Film Connections Programme (2017/2018). She studied Modern History at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford. She is a member of BAFTA.
