We hosted a small welcome for our friends on Sunday night. Cocktails and friends, we find, are a good mix.

We kept the cinematic offerings brief because we wanted our patrons, sponsors and film directors to converse over some live music at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos.

“I want us to spend more time getting to know each other,” said our director Ugoma Adegoke, before adding a half-joke: “This has been an interesting year, I mean agonising.”

The night saw our guests watch Olive, a short film exploring happenstance and infidelity, and Lagos, a documentary on our host city.

We are saving the varied cinematic treats for you. In a week, we’ll open the festival with the exciting ‘Green White Green’.

Please join us. As our director says, “The films you’re going to watch will blow your mind.”
